Steps for the editor and site-building features are in AI in the Editor.
Ask AI on published docs
When your docs are published, readers can type into the search bar ("Ask AI or search docs...") and get an AI answer instead of a list of links. On a page they can also choose Ask AI about this page.
To hide the button, go to Settings → Theme & Customization and turn off Ask AI Button. The Search SDK adds the same search and Ask AI to your own website or app.
AI translation
Turn on more languages under Settings → Localization. Under Content Generation Targeting you can pick a target country for each language (for example, Portuguese for Brazil) so AI translations use the right regional wording. See Multiple Languages.
Use DocStar from your AI assistant
You can also work the other way round: connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI assistant to DocStar so it can search, write and publish docs for you. See MCP to get started.
Good to know
- AI gives you a first draft. Review everything before you publish.
- Results depend on your input. Writing Good AI Prompts explains how to describe what you want.
- AI FAQs and AI changelog entries never go live until you approve or publish them.
