Collections & Pages
Everything you write in DocStar lives in a collection, and every collection is a tree of pages and subpages. This section explains how to create and organize that structure, control page URLs, and recover anything you delete.
#
How content is organized
| Level | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Workspace | Your team's space. Holds members, roles and collections. | Acme Inc. |
| Collection | One documentation site or knowledge base, with its own settings, theme and domain. | Help Center, Public API, Engineering Wiki, Company Blog |
| Page | A top-level entry in the collection's sidebar. | Getting Started |
| Subpage | A page nested under another page. Subpages can have their own subpages. | Getting Started › Install the app |
Each collection has a type: Doc, API, Blogs or Embed. The type decides which settings and page layouts are available, but every collection is built from pages in the same way.

Before you start
- You need read and write access to a collection to add or change pages. Members with read-only access can browse but not edit. See Members and Roles.
