Workspaces & Team
A workspace is where your team works together in DocStar. It holds your members, their roles and all of your collections. This section explains how to set up workspaces, invite people, control access and connect other tools.
#
The workspace menu
Most team settings start from the workspace menu. Click your workspace name at the bottom of the left sidebar to open it. (If the sidebar is collapsed, click the workspace avatar.)
| Menu item | What it does | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Switch Workspace | Move to another workspace you belong to, or leave one | Everyone |
| Add Workspace | Create a new workspace | Everyone |
| Update User Profile | Edit your own profile | Everyone |
| Members | View members, invite people, change roles and collection permissions | Everyone except in SSO workspaces |
| Auth Key | Create and revoke API tokens | Workspace Owner only |
| Logout | Sign out of DocStar | Everyone |
#
Who can do what
DocStar has three workspace roles.
| Role | In short |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access to every collection and setting. Manages API tokens. |
| Admin | Invites and removes members, changes roles and sets collection permissions. |
| Member | Reads or edits the collections they have been given access to. |
On top of roles, each collection can be set to Read Only, Read & Write or Access Denied for each Admin and Member. Details are in Members and Roles.
