Reader Feedback

Reader feedback tells you which published pages help people and which don't. Readers rate each page with one click, and you review the results in Analytics.

How readers give feedback

Every published page and API endpoint shows Was this helpful? at the bottom, with Yes and No buttons.

  • Yes is counted as positive feedback.
  • No opens a short form: "Sorry to hear that. What can we do better?" The reader writes a comment (at least 5 characters), can add an email address, and clicks Send. This is counted as negative feedback with a comment.

Readers don't need an account to leave feedback. On sites published in Hindi, the prompt appears in Hindi.

Turn feedback on or off

See the feedback

  1. Open the collection and click Analytics in the left sidebar.
  2. Check the Positive Feedback, Negative Feedback and Total Feedback cards for collection totals. Click a card to show only pages with that kind of feedback.
  3. In the table, the Positive, Negative and Feedback columns show counts for each page.
  4. Click the Feedback count for a page to read the comments. They are grouped by the reader's email address (if they gave one) and show when each comment was left.

You can also click the viewed count in a page's header to see that page's feedback while you edit it.

Act on feedback

  • Start with high-traffic pages. Sort by Reads, then look at Negative. A popular page with many No votes is your top priority.
  • Read the comments. They often point to a missing step, an outdated screenshot or an unclear term.
  • Reply when you can. If a reader left an email, follow up and let them know you fixed it.
  • Fix and republish. Update the page, publish it, and watch whether the negative count slows down.
  • Turn repeat questions into FAQs. Add them on the FAQs page so they show up on the right pages and in AI answers.
